How To Potty Train Your Dragon!

Kyler LOVES the movie How To Train Your Dragon. It is literally all he will watch When he's at Grandma's house. So I bought him a Bucket of Dragons (kind of like the classic Bucket of Army Soldiers) to reward him when he goes potty on the toilet.

This is Kyler's first Dragon. He tried so hard all day to get one. There were some accidents and some false alarms, but he got one in the end.

Yes it is time once again for the annual pilgrimage to Utah's Hogle Zoo.

We have to start off with the baby African Elephant Zuri. She is very cute and definitely worth the trip to see.

Next we have the Penguins (they were kind of sleepy because it was actually warm and sunny for once).

Our tall friends the Giraffes were next on our tour.

We now come to the Small Animal Building. As you can see from the video it's hard to tell the kids and the animals apart. The little cutie Kyler is growling with is Torrance the daughter of my friend/co-worker Heather (who you can see in the video standing back and watching the mayhem). Did I mention how many "Keep Quiet for the Animals" signs there are in this building? LOTS!!!

Last, but not least, if you know Kyler at all you know that we can't forget the train ride. That kid is obsessed with Choo Choos!

Just A Story About A Funny Kid!

While babysitting Kyler recently I gave him a little dish with Captain Crunch cereal in it. I was surprised a little while later when the dish was completely empty (I didn't think he was very hungry because he had just eaten lunch). Investigating the cereal mystery I found out that Kyler had eaten all the Crunch Berries out of the cereal and put all of the leftover cereal in the cat food dish. I guess we know what Kyler really thinks of Captain Crunch now!

You have never seen a kid that loves motorcycles as much as Kyler! Whenever we go to the toy store he has to ride on the Power Wheels and see every toy cycle in the store.

If Kyler sees any type of "cycle" as he calls them he yells it as loud as he can! It doesn't matter if it is a picture, a toy or a real motorcycle.

A Silly Sandwich!

Last week Kelsey was nice enough to make me a peanut butter sandwich so I wouldn't be late for work. The sandwich I got takes some explanation.

When Toni brings Kyler a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch she always cuts it into a Mickey Mouse shape using a big cookie cutter. Well the only cookie cutters at our house are a bell and a gingerbread man. So, Kelsey decorated my sandwich with a bell cut out. When I saw it I laughed so hard that I had to take a picture!

We let Molly go swimming with him today. I don't think she liked it because she just stood there, but she didn't try to get out either.

It has finally been warm enough to get Kyler's pool out!

He probably would have had just as much fun with only the hose. Kyler is not afraid to splash or get his face wet.

The water was really cold, but Kyler didn't seem to mind. It was hot outside and he was busy splashing Kelsey and I with the cold water.

Lovin' the swim shirt and trunks, but he wouldn't wear his hat or sunglasses. I guess that is why we drenched him in sunscreen!

Let's Look At The Animals This Time!

We decided to give taking Kyler to the Zoo another try. Last year he was just too little to pay any attention to the animals.

Here we are checking out the Zebras. He thought they were okay but his favorite animals were the big kitties.

We should have left Kyler's "blankey" in the car. He would not let go of it the whole time we were there, but it came in handy as a leash.

The Zoo has a playground and Kelsey had to take Kyler on all the slides. His favorite slide was the snake. He could slide on it for hours and hours giggling the whole time. Let me tell you it is ALWAYS a battle when it's time to leave a slide.

A Bowling Birthday!

It was Kelsey's Birthday on June 15th so we had a little Bowling party. It was the first time Kyler has gone bowling at a bowling alley. He usually just plays with a bowling ball at Grandma's house.

Kyler loves riding in the toy car Neil had when he was little, but his feet don't touch the ground so we have to push him. From the screams you would think he was on a roller coaster!

Hard to believe that Neil's little red car has survived for nearly twenty years. Especially since we didn't always use it in the traditional manner. For example: did you know that if you turn it upside down it makes a good recliner?

To avoid cabin fever during the yucky weather Kelsey and I took Kyler to Toys R Us to play with some toys. Kyler loved the red tricycle, but he wouldn't sit on the seat. He had to sit on the bar in front of the seat.

When we left the tricycle Kyler started to throw a tantrum until we found the Lawn Mower.

Kyler was so cute with the lawn mower we ended up buying it to take home. He wouldn't even let go of the handle for the cashier to scan it!

These pictures of Kyler are cute but a little strange and require some explanation.

Kyler has a cloth "touch and feel" book with farm animals in it. The other day he decided that the pig's tail makes a pretty good thing to hold on to while he sucks his thumb. Kyler is kind of funny when he sucks his thumb. He doesn't have one particular thing that he has to suck his thumb with. His choices are sometimes entertaining!

In this "squished" picture is Kyler playing with the toy kitchen in the playroom. He likes to open the cupboard doors and then squish his face up against the plastic window. I realy like this picture because you can see his two little bottom teeth!

Motor is so tolerant of Kyler. He is the only cat I know that will let you do just about anything you want to him. I am constantly amazed that he never snaps or scratches. I still have to remind Kyler to be soft, but he LOVES to play with Motor.

For Halloween Kyler dressed up as Winnie the Pooh disguised as a Bee (so he could steal honey of course)!
